        What is a dome?

A geodesic dome is a spherical structure made up of interconnected triangles, creating a strong and efficient framework. Known for its unique architecture, geodesic domes offer strength, stability, and a spacious interior while minimizing materials used.

        What amenities are included?

 

Guests have access to the private dome and outdoor dining area, as well as the farm. The storage unit under the dome is not accessible. The Dome is equipped with modern and environmentally friendly amenities to ensure a comfortable stay.

        How many guests can The Dome accommodate?​

 

Our Dome can comfortably accommodate 2 to 4 guests.

        Is it suitable for children?​

 

Geodesic domes can be an exciting and unique experience for children, especially on a farm. Families with children are encouraged to read our guidelines and inquire about child-friendly features and accommodations.

        What should I bring for my stay on the farm?​

 

While The Dome comes fully equipped with essential amenities, we recommend bringing personal items such as toiletries, clothing suitable for the weather and outdoor activities (including a rain jacket, swimwear, and hiking shoes), food*, drinks, and any additional entertainment or recreational equipment you may desire.

*Marshmallows, chocolate, and crackers are a must if you intend to make S'mores by the campfire!

        What activities are available near on-site?​

        What are your check-in and check-out times? 

 

Check-in: anytime after 3 PM

Check-out: by 11 AM

        Why do you have dry toilets?

​

We have opted for dry toilets. Instructions on how to easily use them are available in The Dome. This choice reflects our values and desire to educate guests on sustainable living. Dry toilets are deeply rooted in Finnish culture, fitting perfectly with Ben (co-owner of HazelHuts)'s Finnish background and our commitment to sustainability. They drastically reduce water consumption, unlike traditional ones, which can waste water and harm the environment. They also offer health benefits by reducing the spread of waterborne pathogens. Plus, dry toilets are versatile, making them ideal for our semi-off-grid lodging.

        Is there Wifi?

 

Absolutely. We have high-speed internet available for our guests.

        Is the water drinkable?​

 

The well provides drinkable water, however, we are close to natural hot springs. You may smell some sulfur while running the water. Feel free to drink purified water from the jug on the countertop.

         Can we get food delivery to The Dome?

 

You can purchase Long Future Farms' 100% Grass Fed Beef and Pastured Chicken directly from the farm. Contact host for inquiries or schedule a delivery directly on the website at www.longfuture.farm. Otherwise, given the rural location of the farm, traditional food delivery is not a regular service. We recommend planning ahead and bringing your own food. We are conveniently located just a short 10-15 minute drive from local restaurants, grocery stores, and bakeries.

        What is the cancellation policy?​

 

Please review the cancellation policy associated with your chosen booking platform (Airbnb, Vrbo, or Hipcamp) before making your reservation. Typically, we offer flexible cancellation options with varying refund amounts based on the timing of your cancellation.

        Are pets allowed?

 

We are currently unable to welcome pets in The Dome.

        Is there parking available?​

 

We offer on-site parking right by the entrance door.
